The white rose engraving on the barrel is sharper than I expected from the product photos. It writes smoothly with the included cartridge and feels nicely weighted in my hand. A great pick for anyone into the history behind it.

The Tudor rose detailing along the cap is subtle enough to carry to the office without looking costume-y. It's a fountain pen so expect a bit of a break-in period, but the nib glides nicely after a day or two of writing.

The white rose pattern on the barrel is way more detailed in person than I expected, and the weight feels substantial without being tiring to write with. The fine nib lays down a smooth line right out of the box, no skipping at all. Easily the nicest fountain pen I've added to my desk this year.
