I bought this mainly for the artwork and the rollerball writes smoother than I expected, no skipping even on cheap notebook paper. The weight feels solid without being tiring during long note-taking sessions.
The Shin-Bijutsukai floral pattern on the barrel is even prettier in person, and the rollerball ink dries fast enough that I don't smudge my notes. It's a bit heavier than my usual plastic pens, but that actually makes my handwriting look steadier.
The rollerball glides so smoothly I've been finding excuses to write in my journal again. The artwork from the Smithsonian archives is even prettier in person, crisp little details you don't notice until you're holding it under a lamp.
